Long ranting post ahoy! I love Otakon, though this year I don't think I'm going just based on the nature of my other summer plans, and Otakon has more stuff in terms of video rooms and whatnot, but ACen is certainly nothing to be sneezed at.

There were some really, really, really good cosplayers. I mean, how often do you see not one, but two good Mana's? Good Mana's cosplaying Bel Air and Le Ciel Mana, no less. And a good Le Ciel Yu~ki, Kami, Gackt, and Kozi? These came as a set and I saw them during the masqurade, during which they performed the Chicken Dance. To put it in the words of the MC: "How many of you are sitting there going ::puts one hand up:: 'Malice Mizer' ... ::puts other hand up:: 'Chicken Dance'. 'Malice Mizer' ... 'Chicken Dance'? - I know I was. The funniest thing was that the girl playing Mana was acting like a proper Mana during the whole thing - it was fantastic. Then there was the really awesome Cage Shinya, whom happens to be on my friends list (I can finally say I met someone from Livejournal XD) By the way, Bree-san, those boots were really hot, and I love the dress. Tell your friend I approve muchly.

Audra, Cat and myself got stopped for pictures at least a dozen times on Friday alone, and a few more times on Saturday, which was really awesome considering how ghetto our costumes were XD Super-glued sandals - you can't get better than that, na? The Naruto photo shoot was incredibly fun, as well, and was held at exactly the right time - we were outside during what was maybe the only hour of sunlight the entire weekend.

And, of course, buying things. I own so much more than I should have the right to, including L'arc~en~Ciel's 2004 tour photo book and Dir en grey's Dragonfly. I also now have a lovely poster of Akiya, and one of Kagrra,'s tour wrist bands. And an Onmyoji concept art book, which Elaine and Dante found for me and which I will love them forever for. I also found the twins cute little FMA clips for keychains and/or cell-phones.

But perhaps the best thing that happened was getting there. And this I say with no little sarcasm. I mean, haven't you always wanted to get hailed on while on the highway with people one second going 85 miles an hour and the next going maybe 2? And because the rain was so sudden, the highway flooded - and when the rain stopped and people started going 85 mph again, the water was spraying over the median. Then there was getting lost because of a, probably, drunk driver having some breaking and swaying issues - though being lost did lead to some, if I do say so myself, excellent Tour-Guide Commentary (tm) from myself and Cat. The whole thing must have added about an hour to our trip - which meant an extra hour of being stuck in a cramped van where I couldn't move my legs. So, yeah - lots and lots of fun.

Yay for being randomly smote from the heavens...wish I could have heard the commentary.

Heheh, ph33r my pretty books! I don't remember exactly what we said in our "tour guide", but it had something to do with a really weird Pepsi (is that even how you spell the damn thing?) sign and, of course, getting smote. I believe that went something along the line of ::fake British-esque accent:: "We are being smote by God. If you aren't happy with it ... too fucking bad." Or something.

Mwahaha. Random commentary is awesome. I know a bunch of people who are really good at it (yourself included) and I wish I could do it as well. *shrugs* Oh, well. I'll work on it.
And yes, that is how you spell Pepsi. ;)

Thank you!

And proper Mana actually told me (or at least the person relaying her messages did) that my costume was awesome. Made my whole weekend. I also made friends with the small myaku Dir en grey group, or at least the Toshiya and Shinya. I will have a full review whenever I'm coherant enough.

You're welcome. You certainly were deserving of the compliments - both Mana's and mine.

I wanted to steal that Myaku group. I was sad - every time I saw them I didn't have a friend with a camera!
