My current project is coming along nicely. This is only the mock-up; the fabric is not coutil and thus doesn't hold your shape. You do not want a corset that doesn't hold your shape. For a first try I'm really pleased with the current results. I do need to cut down the top - it's too large even though the rest fits.

In other news, the Yankees own your soul, and Gantz tickets are on sale at the Japan Society. I am very excited as I despaired of ever getting to see Perfect Answer on a decent sized screen.
More importantly, the Jazz Age Lawn Party is in two weeks and I am in need of a dress. I bought the materials for it today. I have a book on 1920s sewing in shipping somewhere, so I won't be cutting the fabric until it gets here, but I'm hopeful that fitting a drop-waist dress won't be so hard. We'll see how it goes.
[edit] Damn it. I wasn't going to watch the Hana Kimi remake. However, Kiriyama Renn and Tokuyama Hidenori are both going to be in it. LIKE I COULD DENY MYSELF THE PLEASURE OF WATCHING DOUBLE AND YAGURUMA IN HANA KIMI.
