Mar. 31st, 2009 06:57 pmSo it's been a while, hasn't it? I technically have internet, but until my charger arrives (supposedly tomorrow) I have to use it on my TV. If you've never used TV internet - it's a fucking pain in the ass. It takes fifteen minutes to write a five sentence e-mail, because you have to do it on the remote. I don't recommend it.
Anyway.
Training took place in the mountains of Fukushima, so internet access was impossible even if I'd borrowed someone's laptop. (As it is, I'm on Giovanni's laptop - the only thing I've liked about this experience has been being placed with someone from training.) I'll post pictures as soon as I can set up my own laptop, promise.
Joytalk, while they seem a nice company, is incredibly disorganized. They clearly wanted to keep the training to a week to look good for the Boards of Education - we could have done all our training in three days for all we actually did. Coming back from it wasn't much better - the plans to have the train lists and to be met by people at the trains were scrapped because e-mails didn't come and papers weren't given, etc., etc. The whole thing has been really worrying, really. But things seem to be settling a bit.
I'll have more to update with as soon as I can use my own laptop. 'Til then.
