(no subject)

There has certainly been no lack of excitement around here lately. Friday was fairly normal, with Piccolo coming over to chill around 4 and sleeping over. My parents left about 11 on Saturday, and the two of us slowly woke ourselves up after they did. We bummed around in our pijamas until 5, at which point Piccolo said that the pain from her kidney stone was acting up in a very bad way. So we got dressed, called Fuu-chan, who was with Percy, to tell them where we were going (Beth Israel Hospital), and hopped into a cab for the emergency room. Fuu-chan and Percy arrived sometime later, and we all hung out in the waiting room until they finally called for Piccolo to go in to see the nurses. For some reason - I guess because we weren't family - only two of us were allowed to accompany her; those two turned out to be me and Fuu-chan. We confused quite a lot of nurses ("And ... you are ...?"; "And, where are your family?"; "Your parents aren't here ... ?"). We stayed with her and in the waiting room until 9:00, at which point, we had been told we couldn't stay with her after about 7:00, Fuu-chan, Percy, and myself all left to get food (because none of us had eaten). We got back at 10:00, and discovered that lots of people start to die at 11:00; the waiting room was totally empty from 10:00 to 11:00, then suddenly it was full of people and squalling, rather healthy looking, children. The only source of entertainment came from making snippy comments at the TV, which was CNN with 24 hour coverage of Hurricane Frances (it is Frances, right?).

We didn't leave the hospital until 11:30, and didn't get home until 1:30, because we had to stop off at Fuu-chan's house so she could get her stuff. I didn't go to sleep until 5:30.

Today was considerably less exciting. Tomorrow we're going to see the Twins.
