IN other news: I just saw Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, for the second time. The first time was on Tuesday =^-^= God that movie is so absolutely, incredibly, fantastically wonderful -- the first time I saw it I cried for about 80% of it.

Those parts being Eowyn's fight for and last moments with Theoden, and Merry and Pippin's parting, and Gandalf's time with Pippin in Minas Tirith, trying to comfort him, to name a few. And, naturally, I was crying like a baby when Frodo left from the Grey Havens. How could I not? All the actors are so wonderful; my respect and admiration for them has only grown with each appearance on screen. I am seriously now going to have to go to every single movie that any of them appear in hence-forth, with Hidalgo being the first. (Technically, however, Pirates of the Caribbean [Orlando Bloom was in it] and Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World [Billy Boyd was in it] were the first, because I went to see them for said actors.) Billy Boyd also really needs to sing more, because he's got the most beautiful voice, and goddamnit Dominic Monaghan, where the hell've you been?!?!?!?! I'm waiting for you to be in a new movie, but nooooooo, I have to wait to see LotR repeatedly just for my fix. That's not nice at all!

Mad props need to go to Andy Serkis as well, because I don't think he gets enough. He was absolutely amazing at bringing Gollum to life, even if you don't really get to see his actual face. But Andy Serkis made Gollum so real for me, so human, that I found myself actually feeling ... touched in a twisted sort of way ... as Gollum fell into the lava with the Ring in hand and a blissful expression on his face. I felt bad for him, like I didn't want him to die. And I never thought I'd ever feel that way about Gollum at all.

Oh, and Peter Jackson is a fucking genious. So is Richard Taylor, for that matter. And Nigla Dickson has inspired me to become the lover of costumes that I am now -- even to the point that I've basically taken over the school's costume shop. I'm really excited to see Jackson's version of King Kong, now -- he's going to use WETA Workshop again for all the effects! So, yeah, you all need to bow down before these people. And if RotK doesn't win every single award it gets nominated for, in any award show, I'm going to be so very mad, because it deserves it. And I'd really like to see them get an award for cinematography. Right, so, all hail New Zealand, the actors, and the creators of Lord of the Rings.
