California is good for something: Japan Town (which is literal - the kanji said 'Nihon Machi')! We stayed there for a long time today and had *really* *freakin'* *good* oyako-don. There's also this big mall there, it's built into a hill so it goes part way underground, which is cool, and many many stores reside there. One of them is Kinokuniya *snickers* Another is this record store - it's a small thing, stuck into a wall across from a Danish bakery (I'm still trying to figure that one out). The point of this is: said tiny record store had every single Gackt single, the Moon Child Photo Book, Gackt's newest tour DVD, and a Malice Mizer tour DVD from the Klaha era. Needless to say, I didn't want to leave the store. I wound up only buying the Rebirth album, though, 'cause it was $32.50
After Japan Town, my family, Anita (my mom's old school friend) and I went to Golden Gate Park to the Japanese Tea Garden. It's really gorgeous there - very traditionally styled and there's a little tea restaurant with women in kimono's who serve you from antique tea pots. The gift shop there was awesome, too. I got a parasol with scallopped ends - it's soooooo pretty. Mom said that I could get my own kimono if I want when we get back to NYC. I'm so taking her to get me the most expensive one *evil grin*
We're meeting my cousins for Mexican food tonight. It'd better be good >-<;;
