Happy September 11 Day

vintage_belleCongradulations, New York, you made it through a year without another bombing! Yes, I did just type that and no, I'm not ashamed of myself for it. Believe me, if you found that offensive, you should be really thankful that you weren't around me and my friends this afternoon. It's called black humor folks, and as a New Yorker who nearly lost someone, I think I'm entitled to being a bit cynical about it. The media has made today so trivial anyway.
I'm glad for one thing, though. I didn't have to sit through a day of classes during which the teachers went on and on about terrorism. Instead we went about our day as normal. And seriously, there were kids who didn't come into school today. People, get over it, please. Okay, so the towers were bombed and now America has the perfect excuse to run around bombing a country of people who weren't even allowed to watch TV. Why? Because that's what America does. Sure, this place is great and I can't imagine living anywhere but New York. But really, the only thing we're good at nowadays is declaring war, whether it's here or abroad it doesn't matter.
Yom Kippur is coming up soon. Three day weekend for us, yay! I have to go to services this time, though. You can all laugh as the poor Wiccan girl gets smoted as she walks through the door of the temple. Then again the Jewish version of God is a dick, really, so I may survive because he probably doesn't care.
