Aug. 21st, 2007 05:04 pmAnd so jury duty ended for me after two days of ... well, not much.
August is a good time to have jury duty because the cases that actually go to trial are fewer (judges, lawyers and clients alike want to be on vacation) and so they're less likely to need juries. Today I didn't even get called to panel. I stayed in the Jury Box reading Deathly Hallows. Just started it this morning and I've gotten to page 315.
I got out for lunch at 12:30 and by 15:15 the guy who calls out for panel members handed us our proofs of service and told us to go home. I'm now not eligable for service for 6 years, and I'll be getting a check in a few weeks.
I like it <3
