Sep. 18th, 2006 04:42 pmOne day I will remember not to be surprised by the lack of luggage I recieve coming off the plane in Appleton. It happens every time I get here, and yet every time it happens I still wonder why.
This time the plane that came from Minnesota, which was supposed to take us back to Minnesota, apparently had its fan blades put on backwards - a mistake which was not caught upon inspection. Good job Northwest Airlines. They had us switch planes, then, so rather than a 1:30 take off we were now scheduled for a 2:30 take off - which of course meant we didn't get off the ground until a little after 3. Now when boarding the lady told me that we would touch down at 4:05ish, giving me forty-five minutes to reach my 4:50 connection flight. Fine and dandy, except that we didn't actually touch down until 4:30, and we didn't get off the fucking contraption until 4:40, giving me exactly ten minutes to reach said connection. By some miracle I did make the plane, but of course the luggage didn't - that I was expecting.
What I wasn't expecting was that it didn't come with either of the two later flights arriving that night. Instead I didn't get it until about 11 this morning. I want to know where the hell it was and what it was doing there that they couldn't get it on one of TWO fucking flights.
Well, whatever. I'm here, I'm unpacked, and I've got one more day until classes.
Now if only I could get some freakin' Yankees games out here.
