If I ever come back to China, and I certainly do intend to come back, it will not be in the summer. Nor will it likely be in the winter, given the things I've heard about Chinese winter - at least in Beijing and Weifang; I'm sure it's different in other cities. I will only ever come back to these two cities (and probably Xi'an) in the autumn or the spring. The temperature out here is unbearable - it's a constant, humid, in-the-90s degrees. Teaching in a classroom with three fans (when there should be four), packed with 14 children, their Chinese teacher, myself, and Janet, is not much fun, either. The cafeteria is worse than the classrooms. In fact, now they have us eating in a special, air-conditioned room because Mary was put out of commission for a day and Mark passed out. I think they're worried about all of us dropping dead. That's not saying anything about the mosquitoes. Or the very bland food, which I think is worse than bad food at this point. Last night I was actually eager to go to the KFC located downtown, when at home I avoid the place. China's doing strange things to meeeeeee ;________;

At any rate. The children are adorable. If I come back with a whole host of tiny children instead of a harem, it might well be worth the exchange (in part considering that there isn't anyone in the school who I'd want to put into a harem). They are the most polite little things I've ever seen. Every time I give something to them, no matter what it is, it's "Thank you", and every time they want to talk to me it's "Teacher", all in these adorable, shy voices that make me want to squish them to my bosoms. I will adopt them all for myself; my parents have no say in the matter.
