Especially the special edition - the 'making of' is awesome. The three leading characters are total dorks. Apparently the writer of the original books had Mansai Nomura in mind for Seimei when they told him about the movie. He was really happy when Nomura was cast, and the same for Hiroyuki Sanada as Doson.
I really, really, really want to read the original novels and manga now.
[Edit] The MTV version of Volcano High makes my head hurt, and I haven't even seen the whole thing. I found Volcano High at Target near Lawrence, which had both the MTV version and the original Korean for $15 - no way in hell was I gonna pass that up. Original Korean movie = fuckin awesome. MTV version ... not even close; and I know all that just from seeing the "making of" on the MTV side. Ergh.
