Check to LJ went through, so I have full access to my icons again. Yay. I'm thinking it's time for a change of some of them. Or, better yet, time to make some new ones. Joy. Then work on my sites, which have been pathetically neglected for many many months. Anything to procrastinate doing this Trad. E. Asian Civ. essay. (Which I really shouldn't be procrastinating since it's due Feb. 1 and happens to be my mid-term essay.) Oh well.

There have been a lot of of Christian propaganda signs going up around campus, including one which states, "I believe the Bible is the word of God and infalible" - or something like that. Okay, now, I don't mind what you believe. You believe what you believe and good for you. But does a sign like that have to be posted in Downer cafeteria, where everyone has no choice but to look at it, seeing as its in plain sight when you walk in? Is that really necessary? Not to mention that the Bible is just a book, written by a human hand, mis-translated and re-translated and re-copied over thousands of years - of course it's going to get shit wrong at some point. The Lawrentian (school newspaper) put out an issue with a letter from the president of the Lawrence Christian Fellowship, and then last Monday all of the members were wearing shirts that proclaimed "I stand with Ann". According to [livejournal.com profile] rinkytrnk, there was even a book giveaway which included a book called "The ABCs of Faith" and other conversion materials. The fact that Lawrence has allowed all this is a bit disturbing, and I know that if I were to go around preaching Judaism or Panganism and putting up signs I'd be shot down immediately. Stupid campus didn't even have the decency to buy a cheap, plastic Manorah and put it up during the holidays. Meh.

So far it's looking like London will have to happen in my junior year. The application deadline is February 7th (for the 2005-06 program), and there's really no reason I could write about in my essay on why I should be allowed to go. Going wouldn't help my course of study, because I don't have a particular one at the moment, and most of the classes are above the level I'm allowed to be taking, having not tested out of anything. Quite annoying.

Watched Casablanca last night. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD movie. I was very happy. My friend was also quite drunk, which made for a very amusing walk to and back from the grill, and some very interesting conversation on her part. I hope she doesn't remember it.

Yay for procrastination. Stupid essays. Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] _schneewittchen, because I can.
