Jul. 15th, 2004 10:07 pmThe LIRR bites the big one. Considering that the 5:05 train coming from Huntington and going to Penn Station is an peak hour train, you think the dispatchers'd be smart and not cancel it. But no. The local train, I believe, was indeed canceled - though no reason was given - and the express that should have taken us to Penn Station was the one that took us to Jamaca instead. The one to Penn Station was non-existant for the day. So we all get on, squish in, and get to Jamaca to transfer. The transfer train decides it wants to be 15 minutes late, always a fun thing, and we all squish on that. Squish on with the four big men who're going to the Mets game and have all had too many pre-game beers (seriously, there was a full box of empty ones). Die LIRR, die.
Working in Shop Rite is fun, I must admit. Seth was out sick yesterday (apparently his first sick-day in the year and a half he's been working there), but he came in today because he was "bored at home". And I do quote that. Jill's (John's sister) been driving me to the train station because it's on her way home. She's really nice and fun to talk to. We were discussing the radio and fun morning talk-shows today, and pulled up to the station just in time to see someone being arrested.
Pay-cheque finally came in. Good money, even after taxes. Saturday I'll be at the Greenfield's house with Kobe all day, working as a dog-sitter, for about $6 an hour (I think, it could be less). This will be much nicer, though, 'cause it's money off the books, which means there will be no tax deduction. And after all taxes are filed I can look forward to getting a tax refund, which will be very nice.
I'm going to the Twin's house on Sunday - I'll see if I can drag Piccolo with me. I know they want to see her. I want to buy them something ... not sure what. After the gorgeous doll they bought me for graduation (granted she was on sale) I feel terrible for not having anything for them. They told me that taking them to see Harry Potter was enough, but I must get them more. I spoke to Dalaal for nearly an hour today; she always cheers me up. And likes to hear me rant, for some reason >_>;; Love that girl ^_^
